Download Insta videos and reels in seconds
Reeldrop is a free Instagram video downloader that runs in your browser. Paste the link to any public reel, IG video post or IGTV clip and it hands you the original MP4 — full quality, audio intact, nothing stamped on top. There is no app to install, no extension to add, and you are never asked to sign in.
The extraction happens on our server, not in your browser, which is why it works the same on an iPhone, an Android phone or a laptop. Your device only ever receives the finished video file.
How to download an Instagram video
Three steps, about ten seconds. Nothing to install.
-
Copy the Instagram link
Open the reel or video in Instagram, tap the share icon, and choose "Copy link".
-
Paste it into the box
Paste the link into the field above and press Get video. The server fetches the post and shows a preview.
-
Save the MP4
Press Download MP4. The video is saved in its original quality with audio included.

Frequently asked questions
Is this Instagram video downloader free?
Yes. It is completely free, there is no sign-up, no daily limit for normal use, and no watermark is added to your video.
Do I need an Instagram account or password?
No. You are never asked to log in and no password is ever requested. The tool only reads posts that are already public, so an account is not needed.
What quality are the downloaded videos?
You get the original file as Instagram stored it, commonly up to 1080p for reels. The video is not re-encoded, so there is no extra quality loss, and the audio track is included in the same MP4.
Can I download private Instagram videos?
No. Only public posts can be downloaded. Private accounts, followers-only posts and age-restricted content are not accessible, and this tool will not attempt to bypass those restrictions.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. It runs entirely in the browser, so it works on iOS, Android, Mac and Windows without installing an app or a browser extension.
Where is the video saved on my phone?
On Android the file lands in your Downloads folder. On iPhone, Safari saves it to the Files app under Downloads, and you can then move it into Photos.
Can I download Instagram Reels?
Yes. Reels, standard video posts and IGTV videos are all supported. Share links that look like instagram.com/share/... work too, because the server follows the redirect.
Can I download photos or carousels?
Not currently. This tool handles video only. A photo post returns a clear message telling you there is no video to download.
Do you store the videos I download?
No. The file is streamed through the server directly to your browser and nothing is written to disk. No download history is kept.
Why did my link fail?
The usual causes are a private account, a deleted post, an age-restricted post, or a photo-only post. Instagram also rate-limits heavy traffic, so waiting a minute and retrying often fixes a temporary failure.
Is it legal to download Instagram videos?
Downloading public content for personal offline viewing is generally accepted, but the video still belongs to whoever made it. Do not re-upload or monetise someone else’s work without permission, and follow Instagram’s Terms of Service.
